Coronavirus: Norwegian university shades US Healthcare System in message to students who live abroad

A Norwegian university dropped a shade for the United States healthcare system in a message addressed to its students who traveled abroad.

In a statement addressed to its students over the coronavirus pandemic, the management of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology described the US as a country with poorly developed health services and infrastructure and/or collective infrastructure.

The message read in parts;

"NTNU strongly recommends that all NTNU students who are outside Norway return home. This applies especially if you are staying in a country with poorly developed health services and infrastructure and/or collective infrastructure, for example the USA."

However after the message went viral, the university edited the message on its Facebook page to "This applies especially if you are staying in a country with poorly developed health services and infrastructure and/or collective infrastructure."

The original shade post was however left unedited on its official website at the time of filing this report. Here is another screenshot below;

About 2,952 people in the U.S. have been confirmed to have the virus, though many others cases may be undetected. Of those reported cases, 57 people have died, with deaths in Washington (40), California (5), Florida (3), New York (2), Georgia (1), Kansas (1), New Jersey (1), Colorado (1), Louisiana (1), South Dakota (1) and Virginia (1). Globally, about 156,400 cases have been confirmed, with 5,833 deaths.

Norway with the shade. Accurate, though. pic.twitter.com/xG4QRHki1U— George Takei (@GeorgeTakei) March 15, 2020

So basically, Norway just said that the US is a shithole country & Norwegian citizens who are here now should return home to Norway.

What they mean, of course, is that the US is a shithole country as long as @realDonaldTrump is in charge.— *you're (@RKJ65) March 15, 2020

Like the rest of the world, Norway is laughing at us.

Rightly so. pic.twitter.com/E5RzHeEvjx— BrooklynDad_Defiant! (@mmpadellan) March 15, 2020

Folks this is funny diss from Norway but it’s also true! We are one of the least prepared countries for this #CoronavirusPandemic, we can’t even test anyone & we won’t treat people unless they’re rich enough - recipe for disaster. Countries with single-payer think we’re barbaric. https://t.co/kXIEtrCYKl— Cenk Uygur (@cenkuygur) March 15, 2020

Norway just ended the United States’ career.... pic.twitter.com/wvE5CCRK4x— Sahil Habibi (@progressvoice) March 15, 2020

Norway just sent an email to my friends who live in other countries, saying "she's the citizen of a nation ranked #1 in anti-vaxxers and where they deliberately pack into bars and restaurants during a pandemic, so stay away from that bitch", and I can't disagree with that.— Charlotte Clymer ??‍? Norway just called the USA underdeveloped and I don’t blame them for calling us out. As an American, I too find our response disgraceful. pic.twitter.com/agWc2gwkav— Ricky Davila (@TheRickyDavila) March 15, 2020

?

Hmmm ... is Norway now calling the USA “a shithole country” based on Trump’s inept handling of the corona virus?

Norwegian University of Science and Technology advises all students to return home.
