Blac Chyna is heading to trial with the Kardashian and Jenner family over claims they damaged her career

Blac Chyna is heading to trial with the Kardashian and Jenner family over claims they damaged her career.

This comes a year after the mother of two and ex-fiancee of Rob Kardashian filed a lawsuit against the Keeping Up With The Kardashian stars in October 2017 for damaging her career by canceling her hit TV series Rob & Chyna with her then-fiance Rob Kardashian.

Her attorney, Lisa Bloom made the announcement in a statement she released on Wednesday.

'For over a year, Blac Chyna has been fighting to get her day in court against Robert Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian West, Khloé Kardashian and Kylie Jenner,' Chyna's lawyer
'Chyna alleges that she was slut-shamed, defamed and the victim of a plot to kill her hit show, Rob & Chyna, causing her significant financial damages.'

Bloom also stated that the Kardashian family has tried to avoid going to trial.

'The Kardashian family has filed numerous motions with the court, seeking to have the case thrown out so that Chyna would not get to present her case at trial,' she said.

'As her attorneys, we have fought these motions every step of the way, and the case has remained alive.'

'Today the court rejected the Kardashian family’s request to strike Chyna’s entire lawsuit,' she added.

'Instead, the court struck only portions of six paragraphs out of a 317-paragraph complaint,' it was added.

'Most importantly, all of Chyna’s legal claims stay in. Chyna will therefore be permitted to have her day in court.'

It was also shared that Chyna and her team 'look forward to getting a trial date next month.'

According to her, Chyna alleged that Kris, Kim, Khloé, and Kylie published defamatory things about her and kept the second season of Rob & Chyna from getting made.

The next court date for the case is set for Monday, January 7.

PDP chairman calls for the immediate resignation of INEC chairman, IGP Ibrahim Idris

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus, has called on the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Yakubu Mahmoud and the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to resign immediately.

Speaking at the 83rd PDP National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja earlier today, Secondus said Mahmoud needs to resign because he has proven he is unable to conduct free, fair and credible election. On the IG of Police, Secondus said the police under the current leadership is being used as a tool to victimize anyone that is believed to be of the oposition.

Secondus at the meeting said

“We want to do this advance warning that we are lovers of democracy and peace. We want the peace of our nation; so, let them note all they have done, even in the case of Kwara and Bauchi, where we warned clearly that they announced different results.

“That will no longer be acceptable. We therefore call on the INEC leadership headed
by Prof. Yakubu to quietly resign because he does not have strong will and courage to conduct free and fair election. He should resign. We also call on the IGP to resign and go because I have never witnessed in the history of our nation, from the First Republic even in the military regime, we have never seen this kind of act and the way and manner the police force have been used by the government of APC against the people. Our people are being killed on a daily basis and as I speak with you, leaders of PDP have been earmarked to be murdered and killed.

“The country will rise to defend the values of our founding fathers, and of our democracy. We must defend. We are not afraid. If you want a nation to be rescued from hunger, killings, we must be ready.

Governor Wike reacts after Nigerian Army says it uncovered an illegal militia training camp in Rivers

The Nigerian Army today said it discovered an illegal militia training camp at Nonwa Gbam, (NYSC Orientation Camp) in Tai Local Government Area (LGA) of Rivers State. A statement released by the Army says troops of Division 6, discovered an illegal militia training camp. The troops met over 100 recruits undergoing military type of training.

According to the Army, preliminary investigations into the discovery has commenced in conjunction with sister security agencies in the state to fish out the sponsors of the militia and the training camp.

However, in a swift reaction, the Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, alleged that the Army was been used by the Federal government to intimidate the state government. According to Governor Wike, the trraining camp the military said it uncovered is actually the camp for the training of itscitizens being recruited into the state vigilante group known as Rivers State Neigbourhood Safety Corps Agency.

He stated that the disruption of the training of the Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Agency Training programme by the Nigerian Army is the worst act of irresponsibility, aimed at instigating insecurity In the State.

Speaking at the flagged off for the construction of a Model Primary Healthcare Centre, Odiokwu Internal Roads, Odiokwu-Anwuigboko and Odiokwu-Oyigbo Roads in Ahoada West local government today, Governor Wike said

"The Army is not concerned about the killing of soldiers in Borno. They are only interested in creating insecurity in Rivers State. If you don't want Rivers State to be safe, then Nigeria will not be safe. They want to use their guns against us", he said.

The governor said that Zamfara and Kogi States have vigilante outfits which were commissioned by the Nigerian Army and the APC Federal Government. He wondered why the Nigerian Army would stoop so low to disrupt a legal training exercise.

"Zamfara and Kogi States have vigilante groups. They commissioned them and the Chief of Army Staff did nothing. The House of Assembly passed a law approving the Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Agency. The Chief of Army did not challenge the law in court, but today he sent troops to invade the training camp", he said.

The governor regretted that the Nigerian Army has been turned into an outfit to stoke insecurity in order to attract huge security votes.

"The Army is the agency causing insecurity mainly to attract more security votes. They collected $1Billion from our excess crude account, yet our soldiers were killed. All they are doing is to intimidate people for political reasons. When you fight a state blessed by God, you will crumble. Nobody can intimidate us in Rivers State ".

Governor Wike said that the State Government worked with the Police, the DSS and other Federal Agencies to ensure that only law-abiding citizens are recruited by the Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Agency.

"We did not hire boys for political reasons. This has been a transparent process and that is why the personnel are trained at the NYSC Orientation Camp at Nonwa. We involved the Police and the DSS to ensure that the trainees are profiled for the good of the society. The main aim of this agency assist the security agencies with intelligence and information, since there is a lacuna in this regard ", he said.

Governor Wike declared that the State Government will continue with the training. He said all the antics of the Nigerian Army will not deter the government and people of Rivers State.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has said it is “idiotic” to believe or peddle the rumor that President Buhari is cloned. Since his return from his UK medical trip, there have been rumors that the person in Aso Rock at the moment is a cloned President Buhari whose real name is Jubril from Sudan. Reacting to the rumors, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, in an interview with journalists in Abuja yesterday Thursday November 29th, said “It is idiotic to say the President is cloned. I don’t see any serious government responding to that. So, the same Jibrin that was cloned from Sudan or Chad is in Chad now? Isn’t that stupid? They even said he is from Chad. Yet, the same President is in Chad as we speak. The same Jibrin is remembering what the President did while in Petroleum Trust Fund and he is also remembering what he did when he was Head of State between 1983 and 1985. “All the ministers do not know who is before them when they attend the Federal Executive Council meeting? The President remembers the memos he had seen or heard about in 1985 and we say he is cloned. So, Jibrin from Chad or Sudan will now remember all of these? It is too silly for the government to respond to this. It must be ignored.”

'Three days to my arrest, I was publicly threatened by John Oyegun for my criticism of the current administration' - Olisa Metuh

Sylvanus Tahir, counsel for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC in the ongoing trial of Olisa Metuh, expressed concerns about the manner Metuh is going about his prosecution before Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court Abuja.

Metuh, a former Spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is standing trial along with Destra Investment Limited for an alleged N400 million fraud involving the Office of the National Security Adviser.

Tahir’s concern followed what he termed Metuh's frivolities which he said has no bearing with the case in court. While in the dock, Metuh had told the Court that he had been publicly threatened by John Oyegun then Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

While being led in evidence by Onyechi Ikpeazu, SAN, his counsel, Metuh said: “Three days to my arrest, I was publicly threatened by John Oyegun for my criticism of the current administration.

Ali Ndume, then Majority Leader of the Senate issued a statement noting that the PDP was in a state of comatose, without Doctors or Pharmacists to revive the main opposition party PDP, but has only one 'nut' currently holding the party which is Olisa Metuh."

According to Metuh, the statement credited to Ndume served as “a signal to the government and its agencies that, they needed to remove that 'nut'”, thus making him a target. During his evidence-in-chief, Metuh further told the court that he never stopped criticizing the government on promises that were made to gain access to power in the past election. “I advised that they should stop celebrating imaginary achievements,” he said.

His counsel then applied to tender the July 15, 2015 edition of Vanguard newspaper, which was admitted in evidence by the Court and marked Exhibit B15.

Metuh also lamented that his bank accounts had been seized by the EFCC, and “all my investments at the ARM, the institution I have invested in for the past 14 o 15 years, have all been seized, including all my life savings"

Matt Barnes wants his child support payments reduced from $20k a month to $2k per child

Former NBA star, Matt Barnes, who won primary custody of his two sons wants to adjust how much he pays in child support to his ex-wife and the mother of his two children, Gloria Govan.

According to documents obtained by The Blast, Barnes has scored 71% of the time with his twin sons. Govan only has them for 29% of the time, yet she collects $20,000 per month from Barnes in child support.

In the document, the ex-NBA star who got dirvorced from Gloria in 2016 argued that he is now retired from professional basketball, and his income is not what it was when the child support obligation was originally decided.

According to Barnes, he now makes around $150,000, and after using the court’s child support algorithm, he believes he should only be paying $2,798 per child for every month, a total annual payment of $67,148.

He’s asking that the court grant his request and allow the smaller payments.

PDP tells police IG to reactivate forgery case against Aregbesola in Osun State

Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Osun State, yesterday, urged the Inspector General of Police to reactivate the charges of forgery and conspiracy to forge a police report for which the former governor of the state, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, was standing trial before assuming office in November 2010.

The PDP recalled that Aregbesola and one other person were facing a six count charge before an Abuja High Court for allegedly forging and presenting a fake police report to an election petition tribunal in 2007.

In a statement by state chairman of the party, Soji Adagunodo argued that now that Aregbesola no longer enjoys constitutional immunity, the Inspector General of Police was duty bound to arrest him and present him before the court to prove his innocence in the charge.

While recalling that it was on the basis of the forged police report that the Appellate tribunal in Ibadan ordered a retrial of Aregbesola’s petition in 2009, Adagunodo said it was curious that the former governor and his party abandoned the report when their petition went back for trail in the same year.

The Party said since time does not run against the state in criminal matters, the Attorney General of the Federation and the Inspector General of Police have no excuse whatsoever to abandon the case of forgery against the former governor.

Excitement as Lagos wins 5th Lafarge Africa National Literacy Competition

After countless hours of rigorous coaching, scores of intra-school contests, six regional championships and one grande finale, the joy of Kehinde Lawal and Idowu Ayomikun representing Lagos State could hardly be contained after they emerged winners of the 2018 Lafarge Africa National Literacy Competition. They know they are closer to achieving their dreams in future. Ayomikun wants to become a psychotherapist while Lawal wants to become a playwright like the special guest, Prof. Wole Soyinka.

“I was intimidated with the knowledge of fellow contestants when I saw them for the first time, but as the competition progressed, I got more confident,” Ayomikun said. “Now this victory has brought me closer to my dream and I am sure I can achieve whatever I focus my mind on.”

For Lawal, it is a story of resilience and determination. “Last year, I contested in the school level, but I could not qualify,” he explained. “This year, I came in with more determination and experience and it resulted in this victory. I thank Lafarge Africa for this opportunity and I urge all other kids to keep trying their best. It will definitely be rewarded just like mine has been rewarded now.”

Parents and teachers of the winners were also excited. They recounted the winners’ efforts during preparation for the two-month long competition.

For Mr. Osho, one of Lawal's teachers present at the event, it was an estatic moment. “These pupils have made me proud. I am the happiest person in the world with this victory,” the teacher said.

The organisers of the event and special guests shared the joys of the moment.

Presenting prizes to the winners, the Chief Executive Officer, Lafarge Africa, Michel Puchercos applauded all the participants acknowledging all the students who participated at every stage of the competition.

He said: “Apart from the cash prizes received, those who take part in this competition go away with skills indispensable for building a sustainable future. We recognize the importance of better literacy skills in helping individuals succeed in life. The Lafarge Africa National Literacy Competition builds capacity and contributes to developing this much needed skill in public primary school students across Nigeria.

“Seeing states like Gombe, Nasarawa among some others here, I am sure that the battle against illiteracy… can be won,” Wole Soyinka said.

Though only two out of the thousands of pupils who competed emerged as winners, all who took part benefited from the competition. As part of the preparation for the competition, all the students are coached in spelling, pronunciation, essay and summary writing. In this way, overall, the competition builds capacity, and contributes to improving literacy of pupils in public primary schools.
